So, this is totally jumping the gun, but I've been reading about the wii details released pretty much today (www.wii.com) and apparently you can use opera as an Internet browser on your tv and control it with the wiimote. So I got to thinkin'. If the wii doesn't come with some sort of way to stream music or movies from my desktop or laptop... which I *HIGHLY* doubt it would. What if I just streamed them from a computer on the local network through opera... the wii comes with a wifi adapter and is meant to always be connected to the internet... anyone wanna share ideas... oh, and of course it would be awesome if we could run a myth frontend from a wii... but, we can't really start developing that or talking about it since it's not even coming out for 2 more months |

1) you're right, you're totally jumping the gun 2) Just cause it has Opera doesn't mean it will have any multimedia plug-ins for playing AVIs or MOVs. They did say it would have a Flash plug-in, so I guess if you were able to transcode movies into Flash's video format, then you could do it. Maybe. See #1 above. |

Just wondering how to control Opera with the wii remote? Can you see people shaking it to the left to go Back, shaking it to the right to go Forward? And to type in a URL? Maybe spell out letters like the cheerleaders do? |

ya know, that's what I'm hoping: http://xboxmeagain.blogspot.com/2006/06 ... wsing.html who knows... I wasn't sure if someone had used a device with opera built in for webbrowsing because apparently it's what alot of people are using right now for portable webbrowsing where you don't really have a keyboard and have to have a different way of interracting with the device... some of the devices are here: http://www.opera.com/products/devices/markets/ so yeah... I know, this is WAY to early to say anything, but I like to speculate... |
