For a while now every post with BBCode tags I view on this forum shows the BBCode instead of the desired effect. Are other people having this problem?

[code]test: this should be in a code box[/code]
[quote]test: this should be in a quote box[/quote]
[b]test: this should be in bold[/b]

For me all thoes lines should the BBCode tags, and show as plane text. I checked and I do have BBCode enabled in my profile.

Me too. However I also see that the status of BBCode in my profile is OFF, even though enabled. Must have been turned off for the whole board. Cesman?

Search is dead for me, but I saw a post saying it worked for them.

Anyone else having search problems?

I don't think the search problem is related. Search is just pretty unreliable. Eg I can search for '0.20' and find nothing but search for 'bbcode' and find half a dozen posts.

I think this has been mentioned before in a previous forum post:

For search use google just put something like this in search box, where "Broken Search" is
what your looking for.. it works great - Except it appears that google has not indexed mysettopbox.tv for quite some time.. so you only get old stuff.

Broken Search site:mysettopbox.tv

Broken Search site:mysettopbox.tv

simply, this is a private forum, so google cannot index its contents...
one hint to the board owners: register on www.boardtracker.com then add their custom search... for example, leave registered users to chose between embedded and external search, and the guest readers using ONLY external search...
they offer 3 mods to phpbb boards: http://www.boardtracker.com/boards/5/
one search mod, one to TAG threads (blog style, i think it'd be very useful here...) and the related tagcloud mod...
very simple to implement, the only shortcome is that they must have a user registered as "boardtracker" to index private contents (visible only to registered users, as here)
i put their mods on my board www.slide-show.net/forum , and function very well...
the search engine does not impact on bandwidth, as they, with their user, search the forum not in one day, but in several, by night, and after this all the search comes from THEIR servers...
for this reason, it could take a while to index the entire board (for me, about 3 weeks), not counting the time needed to register your board on their site and to be approved (about 1 week)... they offer premium services, too, paying for them... i use the free ones...
have a look at it, it's very useful...
my 2c

We can't have external search since there are not any external readers.

You have to have an account to read this board.

I asked about a static dump for the board that would get google indexed so you could use google, but I can't figure how to do it. wget won't do it if you have to log in. They really need a recursive save feature in firefox (or a plugin).
