Odd, I just created an xvid file to 720x352. When I play it on mplayer it doesn't honor the correct aspect ratio whereas other players do (I plays back "squished."). Is there a switch I need to enable? Haven't seen a problem like this on mplayer before. |

If you have a 16:9 TV, go into setup and mplayer line to: Quote: mplayer -fs -zoom -monitoraspect 16:9 -vo xv %s

It's on a standard 4:3 and I tried showing it that ratio. It's only happening with one video I made from DVD by cropping the blackbars without resizing. Source was 720x480 and new size is 720x352. This is correct for the movie since it's aspect ratio is 2.04:1.00. If I play the file on mplayerc for win32, it is correct. If I play the file using mplayer under win32 or Debian, the aspect ratio is incorrect. I measured the resulting video box to be 720x510! What am I doing wrong?
