When I tried reading in the Problems and Solutions subforum, I got the following error:

Call it a failed experiment. Possibly a different name like "Fixes" or "Patches" might have helped, but since so many people can't be bothered to read or pay attention to the topic descriptions and sticky posts (look at the number of post install configuration questions people post under install, or the way people post questions under the recommended hardware topics) Cecil locked it.

Cool, just wanted to be sure admins were aware of it.

That's unfortunate, it seems like most posts here are asking for help or input on a problem of some kind. I've often struggled to figure out which sub-forum my questions should go it, and usually end up putting them in general for lack of a better choice. When I'm looking for a solution I always just use search because with the exception of installation the information you need will often be spread out in various sub forums.

Maybe a better way to organize it would be to have a problems and solutions forum and then under it have headings for the various parts of knoppmyth (ie Remotes and LIRC, Xine mplayer and mythvideo, tuners and recordings, x.org and video cards, etc) That way when someone has a problem related to one of those specific parts they can drill down and see posts mostly related to the subsystem they're struggling with. This way they wouldn't necessarily need to know the sometimes magical keywords to search for to find their solution.
