hello.

sorry this is likely a dumb question.

My living room pc has a Zalman ZM460B-APS 460 W ... I bought it cause it's noiseless. perfect for the living room.

However i've inhereted a GeForce GTX 260 card. its a ASUS ENGTX260 Matrix GeForce GTX 260 896MB Video Card. looking on the internet, it seems that this card has a requirement of a 550 W PSU.

below is some data on my psu ... it seems to indicate it can handle 550W

the following link seems to indicate that my psu can handle that kind of voltage

Question .. my zalman is a high quality psu ... will my 460 W psu be adequate? Will the card even start? will it instantly destroy my psu .. will the system be unstable...

I've got a 65 W cpu. and im only running 1 hdd, and 1 dvd burner. .. and a single pci tuner. so im hoping the power demands from the rest of the components are relatively small.

my other option is to buy a larger psu. can you recommend a silent 600W or greater psu.. thanks.

Try running your components through this: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

I am guessing that you will be just fine with a 460 watt PSU.
