Hey everybody, Where to start... A friend of mine installed R5.5 on his system, got everything configured and told me how great it was. I figured it would be a great time to do the upgrade but decided to cheat. Since we both have the same tv's which require a little xorg work to get rid of our overscan issues, and we both have the same harddrives, we decided to ghost his drive to mine. Other than some minor networking issues it worked great. The only problem is my digital sound(coax). It works for recorded tv programs and music files but not for avi,mkv,mpg... I have tried running alsaconf and twkaudio.pl -implement digital with no changes. I have also tried running mplayer in a terminal screen to see the output and I did notice that it was looking for a file dev/snd/COD2p which it couldn't find. Mine is COD1p. I was wondering if it is a chipset issue? He has an older N-force chipset and mine is via. I have looked through several config files (alsa,mplayer) but nothing seems to make much sense. Does anyone have any ideas? |
