Why aren't more people trying LinHES?

As for me,

I've been using KM since 2005.

I'm still on R6 on my main FE/BE -- but I'm in process of moving everything over to a shiny new system that's running CentOS with Myth 0.24.x installed directly as a master BE.

I do plan on using multiple FE's (so, growth is the reason I *might* leave Myth).

I just haven't figured out how I want to do the FE yet. Part of me would like PXE enabled FE's so they can just boot from my master BE.

Another things LinHES would be fine to just boot and install to a flash drive (that'd be a nice install option, BTW... a "diskless" system that's static on flash but puts things like /var and /tmp on ramdisk -- I don't think that currently exists)

I have been using knoppmyth/linhes since R4 something and it has been great for my family. I think the move to encrypted cable is the primary reason myth is faltering. It is simply too difficult and expensive to reccord pay HD content. I absolutely loved my 3 tuner analog cable setup on my 36" CRT, until I got a 52" high def flatpannel and saw how good the OTA HD broadcasts looked. Unfortunately, my cableco thinks that all digital content should be encrypted because we are all dirty pirates, so HD cable and myth wasn't really an option. At that point I decided to drop cable and go OTA/netflix. I invested in a couple of HDHomeruns and a roku box, and for the last year and a half I have been very happy with this setup. However, if I had decided to stay with cable, I would have just rented the cable co's DVR.

I would like to say that I am very appreciative to the LINHES dev group and I love the appliance like state of the distro. I use Ubuntu on all my PCs, but I still use LINHES for myth and have no intentions of leaving. Thank you for all your hard work.
