For those of you who (like me) think mythmusic's interface is nearly unuseable (it takes too long to scroll through a few hundred songs to add one to a playlist), might want to keep an eye on Songbird.

Songbird looks to be an open source iTunes. There's a story here:

i've been using this on a pc for a while now and i love it. i haven't tried to sync it to an ipod yet, but if that works, it'll probably become my #1 music player. if you follow any music blogs, it's brilliant. it's a pretty great web browser, too. only feature that i miss (which is supposedly coming soon) is tabbed browsing.
