i have a file server that i will be turning into a knopmyth box later on this week

is it possible for me to configure the whole distro now... (for file server and myth and settings) and when i buy the wintv 150 card add it in later and configure it when i put it in the box? or is that going to be way to much work and i should i just wait?

If you are just asking can you install onto the server (overwriting anything that may be on it now) and then just add the pvr card when it arrives then yes. when you install the pvr card and boot up it will detect a new card and pop you into the setup so you can configure the card.
