"setup" told me to start mythfilldatabase manual - but this does not work.

It starts and then ends with "Failed to fetch some program info"
ans somewhere "Died at /usr/bin/tv_grab_de_tvtoday line 683


And I still have only snow using "live tv".
everything els is working fine, but without TV the whole software is worthless

What can I do?

I heared of your problems by my brother

so i use a pvr 350 in germany and its working very good!

so the first thing is:

don`t try to get epog working as long as you can`t recieve channels, because thats more important!

please download R5B7, than we are at the same level and we all can help you figure out the Problems!

For the PVR350 i had to scan for channels with an external programm and import this channels.conf file!

The EPG Stuff is than done by nextview, it imports epg info from teletext and saves it as an xmltv file!

that can than be imported to mythtv via mythfilldatabase --manual ...

When you get stuck, post again here!

Thanks for your tip - Now I've installed R5B7 and "Live-TV" works.
The remote-Controll too - only some buttons working funny, but this is not the main problem.


This epg nextview-stuff is now what i want to do.

First: I've the pvr 350 - and how can I check how the videotext is running before trying to install nextview?

How good are the programm-information?

Ans - by the way - did you get any problems by using "apt-get install" or something like this with R5B7 (I've read about some probs with vnc...)

nextview doesn`t hurt, install it! I`ve got a PVR350 too.

The only apt-get problem is, that it fully trusts it sources, so if you have a dangerous source, it can destroy your system.
And knoppmyth is not debian, so some packages have many dependencies which can destroy your mythbox, so install only what you really need.

But nextview doesnt have more than 3 dependencies i think...

I haven`t done it yet, but I know that meanwhile the nextview EPG Grabber works with this Card.

You will not have any problams with R5B7 and VNC as long as you read the winki , and take note of the section on R5B7 , If you don't you will most probaly break something

After installation the program starts but after "scan provider" I got



I've tried "slow" too - and the TV card is PVR 350 and the "tuner0" is choosen.

Any ideas?
