I did an install of slimserver according to the wiki. I did not do the source update because I figured the stable release was fine. I did do the apt-update and it complained about some debian packages. So I then did a install of slimserver.
It worked and then it started up slimserver. I tried to connect via the static ip of my mythbox but I get a can't connect. I even rebooted the box just in case. I am trying to connect through firefox with a http://192.168.11.50:9000/.

Any way to troubleshoot why I can't connect. I had it running on a mac laptop with no issues. So I am kinda lost.

I also checked the slim devices forums for linux.

Any help would be great.

I don't know about the linux version, but when I install a new version on my mac it always seems to rescan my library. Check top for perl usage, if it is higher than 5%, you can pretty well figure that it'll take some time before responding to your call. Let it run overnight, and then give it a shot.
If you don't have a very large library, then it should only take a few minutes, otherwise, hours.

Well all i did was install it from command line. I havent even done a music scan

so just to be clear. I cant access the slimserver web interface at all.
