I have a non-MCE PVR150 (comes with remote) and I've had excellent luck with it. Great looking video (as good as my regular CRT television looks anyway), no lockups, videos go to DVD with Mythburn effortlessly (including commercial cutlists) with audio that stays in sync....

The retail PVR150's can be had for $80 or so on sale or with rebate.

This is on a 1.2GHz Athlon with an Abit KT7A mainboard (Via chipset - but apparently not the one with all the problems) and 384MB RAM, ivtv-0.3.6o. My only complaint is that I didn't get a PVR500 in the first place so I could have 2 tuners.

(as always though, YMMV)

YMMV indeed. Hauppauge has the wonderful habit of releasing a new tuner under an old model name. For instance: not all pvr-150mce cards will have the same tuner. In my case I have tuner type 47 which is ironic because that's what my pvr-350 detects as too. The 350 is ultra reliable where the 150mce is flakey. They are definately different tuners. Some poeple may get lucking with 150mce cards. I guess my biggest worry is something similar happening if I buy a pvr-150. I'd really rather not throw away another card.

for pvr-350:
Code:
ivtv: Tuner Type 47, Tuner formats 0x00001000, Radio: yes, Model 0x00ad1598, Revision 0x00000001

for pvr-150mce:
Code:
ivtv: Tuner Type 47, Tuner formats 0x00001000, Radio: yes, Model 0x00892598, Revision 0x00000001
