Post subject: | How to change the UTC time? |
When I was installing my Knoppmyth I made sure my UTC time was 4 hrs. different than my localtime. I'm in the Eastern U.S. After the install was done and Knoppmyth rebooted and the configuration windows came up it showed my UTC time the same as my localtime. I tried the tzconfig and that didn't help. I can set the timezone to Eastern and it will push my localtime back four hours which isn't right. Is there anyway I can change the UTC time? ![]() |

Hi As root try running tzconfig, I use NewYork for reference. then add a line to bootmisc.sh to set the clock on bootup. That should put it real close for the ntp server to start although it will correct over a period of hours anyway. # echo "ntpdate north-america.pool.ntp.org" >> /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh BE SURE there are 2 >> or you will hose the file. To tweak the current real time, # /etc/init.d/ntp-server stop # ntpdate north-america.pool.ntp.org # /etc/init.d/ntp-server start Mike |

Thanks MJL! I found a way of changing it on my own. I went into /etc/adjtime and changed it from UTC to Local. That seemed to do the trick. I then cleared out my zap2it services and re-established it and re-ran mythfilldatabase. When I checked the program guide everything seemed to be in order. ![]() |

Yeah, there's a full set of directions on the wiki for doing this - http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=ProgramGuideIsOff |
