I am trying to instal R5D1 on my newly built myth box. Backend only..

Intel D815EFV
P3 1GHz
512MB Ram
320GB Seagate PATA

This motherboard has onboard Intel Pro/100 LAN
"LAN Subsystem IntelĀ® 82562ET 10/100 Mbit/sec Platform LAN Connect (PLC) device"

During boot i see something about eepro100 modules being loaded. I get to setup and eth0 option is there, I select it and tell it to use DHCP. It then fails every time.

ifconfig only shows device lo. eth0 isnt there.

When i installed R5A30.2 on my old backend eth0 just worked. Am i missing something here???

sorted!

I had a network issue that was causing the DHCP request to fail. Since it was failing, eth0 was never being set up.

I ran netcardconfig again, set it to a static IP, and eth0 appeared. sorted my network issue and its all good. Thanks psicard
