Hi,
My Myth box is now working fine for TV and music. I'm ready to try MythGame now.
I was playing with the setup for a few days now but can't get a xmame game to start. It just does nothing when I click in the game name.

I was about to give up and take MythGame out of the menu but then I believed to remember a script at installation that was asking something about the roms. I probably declined that and skipped the script.
Now I'm wondering if I just dreamed that or if there really is a script and what the name of it would be?
I also can't find the logs for xmame. Are there any?

Unfortunately I couldn't find anything about it in the archives.

Thanks for any hints...
Ralf

Don't worry about that script just yet. Have you gone into Games Setup and performed the Scan for Games option? If you have already, and it still isn't working, then lets see if xmame is working properly for you.

I assume you have place your xmame roms in /myth/games/xmame/roms

Pick a rom from there. (I'll use mk.zip as an example)

Go to an xterm prompt as user mythtv (while in the GUI or VNC....not just in an SSH session) and type :

Code:
xmame mk.zip

Let me know the results. If that doesn't work, try forcing your rom path by typing:

Code:
xmame -rp /myth/games/xmame/roms mk.zip

Let me know the results.

I am not sure how to prompt the system to look in the ROM directories for new games. I am pretyy sure that I have added games to the appropriate directories (XMAME and SNES only).

I have tried going through the menus (v. R5F1), however, I did not see the option to prompt the system to update the database with new ROMs.

UPDATE:

This is under:
Home >> Utilities and Setting >> Settings >> Media Settings >> Game Settings >> Scan for data
