| Post subject: | Tuner type is wrong |
My Pinnacle TV card with 878 chip doesn't work. I've found that the tuner is set to 5 (regarding dmesg), this is wrong it should be 14 but how do I fix this? I've read about changing the kernel options but since I'm no linux guru I have no idea where to do this.. ps I've installed the auto-install version of KnoppMyth |

See the examples at the bottom of this page: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... ptureCards I think (but double check!) you just need to say bttv (rather than ivtv) and the appropriate number. Thnx I fixed the tunertype but it didn't get me any further.. When I run mythtv-setup and try to scan for channels I get the error "Failed to open the card".. Any idea why it's giving this error? The tunertype is right, because it's written on the card so the type is the right one.. |

Your original query has been resolved. Start a new thread and post details like what happens when you test the card with xawtv. |
