If this has already been discussed please excuse me. I did some searches of the forums and didn't find an answer...

Here is what I want to do. I am upgrading just about everything in my KnoppMyth box except my case. I would like to just copy about 5 - 10 of the TV shows I have that I want to keep to one of my Linux desktop computers over the network then do a fresh install and then copy them back.

I don't want to do a backup/restore but I would like the copied shows to show backup in all the "normal" places.

Can this be done???

If not I guess I could just burn them to DVD but that's not what I really want to do.

Thanks for any help :)

John

With previous versions i've used nuvexport to do what you want. Just tell it to export to nuv + sql.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've never used nuvexport but I am assuming there is an import feature with it as well??

Thanks again

Can you point me in the right direction with what to do on the command line with the sql files?

I used nuvexport and have the files but I have no clue what to do with the sql files.

Thanks again.

Do a backup first...

I think the command is something like:

mysql -p -h 127.0.0.1 mythconverg < nameofsql.sql
