Post subject: | sound problems |
I have a sound blaster live sound card. I can configure alsaconf so that mythtv uses this card. And then use alsamixer to set the controls. However, I don't know how to update mythtv so that this is permanent. Each time I boot the system I have to run alsaconf and then alsamixer. 2nd problem. I can't get rid of a crackling sound when watching TV. I have played around with the controls and can ease it a bit but not completely. It seems to be due to the digiitizing and then reconstruction of the TV analog sound coming from a Divco Fusion HDTV5 Lite in its NTSC mode. Interesting , when use aplay /dev/dsp to listen to the recorded sound it says Playing raw data /dev/dsp unsigned 8 bit, rate 8000 Hz mono and I hear the sound with less crackel and get the occasional underrun !!!! (at least 2.9 ms long) The sound card is capable of 48bit, would an increase in the sampling bit size/ rate help? If so how do I do this? |
