Hi,

I have searched everywhere and can't seem to find my problem. It seems that on knoppmyth bootup I keep getting a message saying that it is disabling IRQ=11. When I enter the command ifconfig -a it says that eth0 is using Interrupt:11.

I did some changes in my bios and got eth0 working on IRQ=5 but then it seems to disable that one on startup as well.

Is this a problem with the kernal not having the correct network drivers? I can't see this being the problem because I have had it working in the past.

I am trying to install using R5E50 using an onboard NIC.

Motherboard = P4VMM2

(The NIC has worked with Fedora Core 6 as well as a previous buggy install of knoppmyth R5E50)

Thanks

Hi,

Normally irq5 was for sound. I had a net card issue on a Compaq and it was just a matter of getting the wrong things turn off so it would pick up properly. At first go around with it, I added a card to get things going then went back and played in the cmos pit, Sorry I don't recall what it was exactly but I think it had to do with power saving. I would not force it to an odd value.

Ok, I tried disabling the power saving features to see if that would get it to work and it did not. During that boot I noticed something about USB....so I then turned back on the powersaving and disabled USB in the BIOS. Doing this got the network to work. So the problem is a conflict between the USB and the Network card. Is there a way to configure this so that I can use both. I need USB for my MCE IR reciever.
