I have working KnoppMyth on my 40GB drive from about a year ago. I tried to compile from source the new MythTV but it trashed my video player. I upgraded my system now it is using Xorg but MythTV will not compile. So I decided to take another 160GB drive and install the new KnoppMyth R5E50. Is there a newer one some place?

First of all the lilo.conf is still buggerd. There is no prompt and the delay is way to short so you have no ability to fix any thing when it goes FUBAR, like it is for me.

As soon as the system tries to startx it locks up hard, no keyboard responce no hdd activity the screen goes black and a cold reboot is the only thing I can do. It does not even log any errors.

I tried to grab some info by doing "strace startx > wtf.log 2>&1" but the log file never gets created.

I tried bringing over my xorg.conf from my working KnoppMyth but it also does not work.
I checked and the nvidia mods are being loaded.

Has anyone seen this before? Would installing the old KnoppMyth then upgrading to the new one work any better?

What version nvidia driver are you using? The MX440 is not supported past 8776.

If you haven't yet, you may want to look here:
