My setup is a p4-2gz with a pvr-350. I've set up a new frontend on a 2.4ghz with its own pvr-350.

The new FE can watch anything it wants. But the BE isn't using the FE's pvr-350 to record. Why?

Because FE only systems don't do that?

You need to configure it as an SBE. It's the BE process that actually talks to the capture cards.

BTW - Anticipating the next question, no, the BE on the other box can't magically locate the hardware on your FE only box and use it. For a process/program on a remote system to "use" hardware it essentially needs a local program/process to act as the middle man.

My system was a simple FE/BE conbo with one tuner card, a pvr-350. Now I need a slave BE which I just configured but I hit a snag. My original pvr-350 on the BE is missing. Why do I only have the remote tuner now?

Ok I'm not sure why I lost the other tuner but I just re-added it on the BE and it works fine.

That article seems to symlink some stuff around. I don't understand why I can't either 1) nfs mount the master BE's /myth to the SBE's /myth, or 2) nfs mount MBE:/myth/tv to SBE:/myth/tv. Why am I mounting crap under /mnt?
