I've searched the wiki, the forum and the web multiple times for "P_______e", ""P_______e css", "P_______e dvd", etc. No dice.

I've read the README.debian file in libdvdread3, but it only says to go to http://www.debian-unofficial.org/ and I did. In the packages area, I did find "libdvdcss" -- is that it?

The only way I know to install "P_______e" is to install the helper scripts recommended here:

http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... per+script

I just upgraded to R5F27, and ran that command and it displays this:

"Sorry, I have not been tested on your version of KnoppMyth (KnoppMyth R5F27) ...
This dose not mean that things will not work, I just don't know
you should use at your own risk"

which is fine, but then it just hangs. No download, no command prompt.

I don't really need all the helper scripts, just "P_______e" to play DVDs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think that helper script worked for me.

Still just hanging for me. But the problem could be with his site, of course. Hid main page loads, so I know the whole site isn't down.

I found the directory on his site, downloaded it to my Mac, scp'd it to my mythtv box and ran chmod 755 to make it executable. Ran it, same exact result. It says:

Sorry, I have not been tested on your version of KnoppMyth (KnoppMyth R5F27) ...
This dose not mean that things will not work, I just don't know
you should use at your own risk

and then just hangs there forever.

It appears there's nothing wrong with his site, but his script won't run on my box. I followed the upgrade instructions and everything else is working well.

Has anyone found this problem?

It is just a warning message. Looks like you should be able to just ignore it.

You appear to be looking for something connected with dvd and css, so I'll give you some generic debian instructions.

Become root
Add the debian multimedia package source by un-commenting it in /etc/apt/sources.list
"apt-get update"
"apt-cache search dvd|grep css" will allow you to search for the package/s you may or may not be looking for.
"apt-get install <package>" will install it.

This is general information for finding and installing debian multimedia packages but will probably help you out in this case.

Enjoy!

Mike
