Post subject:  badness on install epiaM600 & PVR350 R4.4.1

I had knoppmyth working OK on 4.3 with this hardware, went to 4.4.1 to get the updated version of mythtv.

4.4.1 does not play well on this hardware - the msp4300 driver fails on load during boot, result is there is no sound captured from the tuner. With some playing around with alsa config and by using "play <some .wav file> I have confirmed basic linux sound is working - so I believe the problem lies in the error message when loading the msp4300 module.

This problem also existed in 4.4.

Any thoughts? If I could, I would be happy building the sources for mythtv 0.15.1 from cvs but I was not successful in getting all the libraries installed that mythtv needs to build.

Any ideas/suggestions welcome - I'm stumped.

looks like (after a search here) I need to rebuild the ivtv module. I'll post again if that works. Should have searched first - my bad :(

Ok, sorry for the fuss. Recompiling that did the trick.

Now, is it possible to build mythtv from source on one of these systems? I'd like to hack on mythtv from cvs.
