Naturally I answer yes
and so it begins
Code:

Of note the libmng package always shows as corrupted, if I choose no to delete then nothing happens if I choose yes then I get an error I run pacman -Syu again and it downloads libmng and does the upgrade.
Code:
:: File libmng-1.0.10-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted. Do you want to delete it? [Y/n] y
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)

Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
[root@trev ~]#
So we try again

Because this post is getting long I will edit a little
I run pacman -Syu again and get
Code:
Total Download Size: 0.52 MB
Total Installed Size: 657.94 MB
Proceed with installation? [Y/n] y

error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
/etc/issue exists in both 'LinHES-config' and 'filesystem'
and miles more of package already exists.
I run it again but say no to iproute2 and esound
and the result is the same
how about -Sfu
Runs without error now
some success now for vdpau I should have thought to use force before.
