Thanks to a user here, this is now solved. Below is my original message, and below that is the solution. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi, I'm running: KnoppMyth R4V5 Hauppauge PVR 250 Celeron 2Ghz 512 MB RAM ActiSys 200L IRBlaster Bell ExpressVu 3100 I'll be damned if I can get my receiver to change channels. I have cable and the dish hooked up. The cable works fine, and when I choose a dish channel, it switches inputs okay, but doesn't change the channel. I followed the directions from here: http://members.cox.net/rwraithr/IRBlaster_Howto.txt with sligt modifications (for example, R4V5 really doesn't want me to change modules.conf, so I did modutils, and there is no rc.local so I created a startup script). That didn't work, so I changed my HZ to 1024 as specified in this thread http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/m ... svu;#24132 That resulted in the "Blinky Lights" problem when KnoppMyth tried to do it's modules thing at boot up. I kept my 3100 using remote codeset 1 (no chnages from out of box 3100). Here is the message from TransAmGore. I used his remoted.conf file verbatim... First, I had to use the howto listed here to have my mythtv box handle two seperate IR devices: http://members.cox.net/rwraithr/ The quickest and easiest way is to manually have lirc record the button presses from your remote, and then use the recorded data as raw information for remotedd.conf. I'm not near my mythtv box right now, but I believe there's a raw capture program for lirc called ir_raw or something along those lines. It's one of the utilities installed with lirc. When you run it, it will listen to the IR receiver currently plugged into your mythtv box (in my case a Hauppauge receiver plugged into the back of a Hauppauge 250 card) and output a bunch of crap to the console whenever you press a button on the remote. The idea is to copy that stream of numbers and put it into the remotedd.conf file, then assign it to a specific button. Basically, you have a bunch of lines with 387 and 2832 (or thereabouts), with occasional blips of different number pairs. The only exception to this is the first line, which has 385 and 6134. That first line initiates the transmission. The pattern of the following blips is what tells the receiver which button you're pressing. The numbers vary slightly because of ambient lighting, sensitivity of the IR sender, and variances in the IR receiver. Using 50 to 60 lines of number pairs is usually enough, The specific numbers aren't terribly important, it's the range of numbers that matters most. Here's a VERY fine-tuned version of my remoted.conf that works flawlessly with my ExpressVu 3100. It may or may not work for you. I don't remember if my 3100 receiver is set to IR channel 1 or 6, so you might want to try both.
