Just installed fresh R4v5. Everything went smooth.
have a PVR 350 card.
Set my tuner0 to comcast input source

Try to watch tv. Nothing.
Try to record. Works fine. Can play back to monitor with sound fine.
Now I can stop watching recording. Go watch live TV. Now it works.
Try to output to TVOut.
Sound goes to TV but no video.

Not sure what is going on. Since I can record fine and after initially watching something recorded I can watch real time TV it just seems like some subtle settings are just not right.

Suggestions welcome....

And the logs says? Run it from an xterm, try to watch tv and quit. You should get some output...

Sorry. Not a Linux guru. Which logs would show what is going on?

/var/log/mythtv/
I also suggest searching the forum and reading the MythTV docs.

Ok,

Have a default KnoppMyth Install.
Changed the modules.conf to reflect suggestions on the ivtv TVout Howto.
Will not show video on TVOut. Just a bunch of white lines
If I go to a shell and type the following :

ivtvfbctl /dev/fb1 -globalalpha -nolocalalpha -alpha 0

Then TVOut works.

I gather this command sets the frame buffer to transparant.
How can I get the proper setting at startup?

Thanks

Take a look in /etc/sysconfig/ivtv/ and /etc/mythtv/modules/. Don't use modules.conf and do search the forum.
