Hello all,

Got a new install of the latest build nearly working. I am using a PVR 350 (input only) when I 'Watch TV' I can only see one channel, channel 3. All attempts to change channels fail.

The /var/log/mythtv/mythtv-backend.log doesn't indicate anything.
I've check in mythtv-setup and I have lots of channels defined...

any suggestions?

Thanks alot!!
Michael

You didn't give us much to go on...

My 1st stab in the dark would be to say you have the wrong tuner type in ivtv. What is your tuner type? Have you tryed '39'?

My guess is, channelnum is left empty, or only set for channel 3.
Quickest way to set up channel settings is via the web frontend.
Got to 127.0.0.1 ot the IP you set up for your machine, then Settings -> Channels or similar. You will get an overview here instead of changing the channels one by one in the mythtv-setup

I have a similar issue ... config:
Dell optiplex gx110 733/384MB/60GB w/ Hauppauge PVR-250 (Gateway OEM) running KnoppMyth R4V5 - I can only view 1 channel (CH. 4). I also cannot retrieve the TV schedule. I cannot seem to be able to conect to "DataDirect" to retrieve the channel info.
I am able to record though, after a manual schedule.

The first thing you need to resolve is getting the data. Have you setup an account w/ zap2it? If not, do so and try again. If you have, can you ping a server on the Internet (try apple.com)? If not, what does ifconfig show? If you don't see eth0, run netcardconfig.

I do not have an account w/ zap2it, I am able to ping the outside world, I am also able to view the www interface of the box from any other PC on my network.
Created an account with zap2it, I think - through their forums (?) ... ran "mythtv-setup" (as the user "mythtv"), this time I had MythTV in a window, so I was able to see a few error messages as follows:
mythtv: could not connect to socket
muthtv: connection refused
lirc_init failed for mythtv, see preceding messages

anyway configuration ran fine, I was able to setup my username and password in the "DataDirect" fields, when done ran "mythfilldatabase", as instructed on the prompt, but no connection was established.
I think I may not have setup the right account w/ zap2it, but this was the only one I was able to see on their site.

perhaps have a look over on the wiki installation instructions. you create the account with labs.zap2it.com not the forums.
