Post subject:  Create Database & mythfilldatabase / tv_grab_na_dd

Hello all,

I've got the latest version of KnoppMyth running, however I seem to be having a few issues. I was hoping someone could confirm I'm running the correct tools;

1. I manually create the database using /usr/share/mythtv/KnoppMyth.sql

2. I've run tv_grab_na_dd (which seems to execute ok) followed by mythfilldatabase

Thanks for any advise,
Mike

1. You didn't state the issues you are having so no one can tell if you are taking the correct steps to solve those issues.

2. You don't need to run tv_grab_na_dd, just mythfilldatabase.

Post subject:  the issue

Hello Cesman,

Well the issue I'm having is, I believe that the reason I'm unable to change channels is because the frequency is not available in the channel table...

I have the same error as this fellow;
http://mythtv.org/pipermail/mythtv-dev/ ... 19569.html (See bottom of message)

I get these errors;
2004-11-20 19:34:33 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "20" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-11-20 19:34:33 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "1" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-11-20 19:34:33 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "T14" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-11-20 19:34:33 Error, couldn't find any available channels.
2004-11-20 19:34:33 Your database is most likely setup incorrectly.

I've tried switching my Tuner Card a PVR 350 to use an the external tuner program ptune.pl, but that doesn't get execute, because it seems the Channel's are not set correctly...

So all in all, I believe that some how the database is incorrect.

Here is a snippet from select * from channel;

| 1003 | 3 | 3 | 1 | CBUT | CBC (Vancouver) (CBUT) | none | NULL | | 10100 | 0 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | Default | 0 | 1 | |
| 1004 | 4 | 4 | 1 | LOCAL | Local Programming | none | NULL | | 16175 | 0 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | Default | 0 | 1 | |
| 1005 | 5 | 5 | 1 | KNOWC | Knowledge Network | none | NULL | | 14492 | 0 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | 32768 | Default | 0 | 1 | |

See anything wrong with my data?

Thanks for any advise,
Michael

I sure I answered this a few days ago... Please STOP posting the same question on the forum. Please don't reword your problem and create a new thread. If you have a problem, stick with the same thread until a solution is found.

1. Run mythtv-setup
2. Answer yes to both questions.
3. Reconfigure
4. Once you reconfigured, run mythfilldatabase

This should all be done and the user mythtv NOT root.

Hey Cesman, It occurs to me that given the commercial links in this guy's postings, this might very well be part of a Google rank pumping scheme, or just flat out BBS spam... Or I could just be getting paranoid from dealing with too many scummy operators invading the net... Sigh...
