| Post subject: | IDE Controller Install problems |
ok so I tried installing r4v5 to a hard drive on my ite 8212 controller card with no luck on both auto and manual install. I've tried all arguments with no luck(ide=reverse, ide=nodma). I'm not even sure if the driver is loading for the card, or if the card is even supported. I have the source for the drivers. Can I somehow compile them before installing if thats the problem? Or is there someway of doing an install with the drive hooked up to the primary controller, then switching it to the card? I tried this already by doing an autoinstall then switching the drive over to the card, knowing it probably wouldn't work. On boot it finds a highpoint scsi controller, but locks up and gives me the flashing keyboard around when it try's mounting the drive Any info would help, the headach is not worth it, I'm ready to give up Thanks |

search the forums for scsi or sata should give you the basic problem Knoppmyth is designed to be installed on the primary master onboard pata drive, installing it anywhere else can be done, but not easily. |
