So here's a good laugh. After some efforts (I've got the new LG TAPE tuner) it worked fine. Now, it doesn't. Sometimes after 10-30 minutes of watching TV via the 350 tv-out using svideo the image starts fluttering, skewing sideways, color distortions, etc. It usually blacks out eventually, though sometimes it will stabilize at crappy (images are recognizable, but not watchable). Frighteningly, it strongly resembles what happened to my PS/2 just before the entire video board died. This appears to be pretty much a video out problem -- I can still log in via the terminal or ssh I've checked the heat -- the card warms up a tad while in use, but I can comfortably place my finger directly on the heat sink or other areas of the card. I'm at a bit of a loss. I have not upgraded the X driver, nor have I installed a newer ivtv (just patched tuner.o to handle my tuner). I hesitate to fiddle with a working configuration if it might be a hardware problem. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! |
