Trying to install knoppmyth and everything seems to be installing fine.When I get to step 3/5 enter password,I can't do anything.It's funny because I could put in username.I can't type anything. I read about people having keyboard problems , lights going crazy but no lights on mine. |

Let me guess, you have a USB keyboard. There are known (and I believe unresolved) problems with USB keyboards and knoppmyth. Try a PS2 keyboard. |

nope I believe the answer is simpler than that. You don't see the password as you are entering it. not stars or nothing that is normal. just enter it and proceed. I believe you will find that it works. |

It is a PS2 keyboard I tried to enter a password and then proceed, but that doesn't work. I checked the cd and the burn,downloaded it a couple times and checked it. |

Does the box have the focus when you type? If not put your mouse over the box and then type. |

I'm also brandnew to all this KnoppMyth / MythTV stuff. Because I also want to build me a HTPC I'm trying to install KnoppMyth on my notebook as a test for myself and to get familiar with Linux based software. The installation of KnoppMyth goes good until a have to type in a password. No matter what I'm trying here seems to go. All I see is a blinking box that stays in the first position. Anyone?
