I have been searching this forum as well as several others in order to get my hauppagauge pvr 250 remote working. I followed the instructions on http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/ and in http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 350+remote. I have recompiled lirc several times, but i get no response when I press a key on the remote control. I am using the lircrc and lircd.conf files that I found on this forum, but no matter what I do I cannot get this remote to work. I built this box 3 weeks ago, and I still cannot get the remote to work.
My setup is:
- knoppmyth r4v5
- shuttle s6b5g2
- hauppauge pvr 250
- A415-HPG remote

I have my ir receiver connected to the small plug in the back of my hauppage card, and my serial port is connected to my cable box...

Does anybody else have this setup, or can anybody offer any assistance. I have been to several threads and didn't find an answer, so I decided to post my own.

I would start by making sure that IR receiver cable is good. Do you have a windows machine you can install it on to check that the cable is ok? They are pretty cheaply made and I can see how they could get easily damaged...

Have you determined how much of the process is "not working"? Is it just that mythtv is not responding, or is lirc not seeing the remote signals?

Use irw and irrecord to see if lirc is receiving signals from the remote.

When I run the 'irw' command I receive no messages. here is the what dmesg has to say about lirc:

I have ran setup.sh and selected the option for hauppage tv card.....And I know the remote is working correctly because when i press a button the television receives a signal (well the power light flashes )

I have not tried to hook the hauppauge card and ir cable toa windows box, but I will try....
