| Post subject: | Knoppmyth wont install? |
This is crazy, i have a computer with mandrake already installed. I want to install knoppmyth over it,everytime i try to install -i go through the steps user names passwords etc.. then when it comes time to partition HD i get an error message that i have read only access on the disk. Does anybody have a idea of what i should do? |

I'm not sure why KnoppMyth isn't just installing over the top of your Mandrake but you could try using the Mandrake installation CD to repartition and format your hard drive. When that is done just exit the install and try KnoppMyth again. |

Do what he said or try this (I am sure its blasphemy on this forum, but it might work) get your Win98 boot disk and run fdisk, delete all the partitions on the drive. Then run fdisk /mbr to wipe the MBR. Reinstall with KnoppMyth. Or try SystemRescuecd. http://www.sysresccd.org/ or Knoppix straight up http://knoppix.org/ Use cfdisk to wipe out the partitions and there are other disk utilities to wipe the drive blank. Thanks!
