ok, so who can answer these questions.

i want to try R5A15 but i want to try it on only one frontend to make sure there are no issues.

Can i run R5A15 on a frontend with R5A12 on the backend?
Are there any issues with mixing 0.17 and 0.18?

Also, knoppmyth is great, however I have a lot of customised stuff that goes on my frontends, I have heaps of scripts that run to do various tasks and some of my hardware requires specific drivers that are a pain to get running properly.

Would it be possible to have an upgrade script rather than having to download a new ISO everytime a new version comes out. Perhaps it could automatically check for new versions of the upgrade script.

That there could be a base install and then a series of scripts that are downloaded and run to upgrade to the latest version. Then maybe once a year or every nine months or so bring out a new ISO which becomes the new base install.

I'd be happy to do a complete reinstall from scratch once a year but to have minor iterations done via scripted updates.

Cheers
Toby

yes there are always problems mixing versions between front end and backend.

And the reason it's a complete iso upgrade at this point is because these are alpha versions. generally on release version there will be debs available for new versions of myth.
