Have a working R5A16 with a PVR350. Bought a PVR250 as a second tuner.
Installed the PVR250. Rebooted. The original PVR350 was seen as card 0.
The PVR250 was seen as card 1 in messages. In Mythtv-setup I could assign my source (comcast) just fine to tuner 0 (the pvr350). However, in the setup capture options there was not a tuner 1 but a second tuner 0.

After doing the obligatory forum searches and reading about all the possible issues with new pvr250 cards I elected to try an experiment before going on the new ivtv re-compiles journey so many seem to have done.

I took the PVR250 out leaving only the PVR350. Rebooted. Re setup the capture card in Mythtv-setup.
Everything worked fine.

I took the PVR350 out and installed pvr250 by itself. Re booted. Setup the capture card in Mythtv-setup.
Everything worked fine once again.

This seems to suggest the drivers I have are fine for both cards.

What could be causing there not to be a tuner 1 option available when I have both cards installed? Just an extra tuner 0.

Thanks

Just incomplete index information. Card 0 - Tuner 0, Card 1 - Tuner 0, ...

The critical bit of differentiation is really under the 2. Capture Cards menu option in mythtv-setup where your first MPEG device should be /dev/video0 and the next one should be /dev/video1

Thanks. That was somewhat non intuitive.

Glad I didn't go shot gunning the new drivers deal.

Thanks again.
