Post subject:  Choppy Video problem

Sorry if this is a double post but I think this was deleted by the admin from KnoppMyth / Installation.

I install KnoppMyth to my new EPIA M 10000 and then am instructed to remove the CD and reboot. Upon reboot LILO loads Linux and then I think X starts to load. At that point I get a blank screen on my old 17 inch monitor. Thinking it is a monitor problem I hooked up a TV and rebooted. This time I get video but it has a serious vertical refrsh problem. But I can barely make out the penguin and living room scene.

CTRL-ALT-1 gets me to a prompt, but being new to Linux the only thing I know to do, is something I found in a previous post on this board.

( http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... t=vertical )

I type "vi /etc/X11/XF86Config-4" and check my settings for VESA instead of MGA and I know that I want my vertical refresh at 60. I'm not sure where to change this. I also don't know what section to look for VESA or MGA. I don't think the entire file mentions MGA. I found this nice lengthy description of the XF86Config file after searching Google ( http://www.xfree86.org/current/XF86Config.5.html ) but am not really sure what setting to change.

I am using R5A16. How can I get my video working?
