Ok, I installed R5A30.1 over my A26, and I had to use the manual install. A26 had auto-installed and created the 4 partitions on my tiny 40 gig drive. A30.1 seems to have somehow screwed up the partition job and (I think) is trying to do everything on the first partition. I can't record anything because it only holds 0.13 gigs as reported inside Myth.

How do I check that /cache and /myth are connected to the 4 gig and 30 gig partitions as they should be? if they aren't connected correctly, what can I do to fix it?

Should I just reformat everything and start over, redoing the partitions from scratch again?

what do you mean you had to use the manual install? if auto install worked before then it should have worked this time, and besides that you really should do auto-upgrade makes things much easier.

I have a SATA drive. The bios has an IDE emulation, and it worked for 26, but not for 30 or 30.1. I asked in the Knoppmyth Install forum, and they just said to use manual install.

Anyway, I figured out the problem - I hadn't manually formatted the other 2 partitions (3 and 4) while doing the manual install. I redid the install and it now shows 30 gigs available for recording. Now, on to my next problem - no sound.

This issue is Resolved.
