Hey there, first time poster!

I'm in the middle of a project to convert my M$ Media Center 2005 box to mythtv (knoppmyth). I have most stuff working ok. Can't get my hd card (HD5000) to get a signal but I think thats my apt (a question for a later post after I give up)..

anyways my question is it seems that the MCE remote IR Blaster isn't supported under LIRC or Myth (after searching.. big bummer since I have it already). If this isn't the case please let me know... This being the case, what do u recommend to purchase a lirc compatible blaster (and any links on a good guide to get it configured and working)?

thanks guys

Well, there are 2 type of MCE remotes, LIRC support both the old and the new. The "2005" model is the newer one. It should work, but I can say for certain as I don't have one.

The version of lirc that comes with KnoppMyth is not configured/compiled with the --with-transmitter option. This prevents hombrew blasters from working without recompiling lirc. This will be addressed in future versions of KnoppMyth. Not sure of whether this would also be the case for an MCE blaster (whatever that is?).
