I'm having a problem with my program guide. I have my time to sync with a timeserver, but when it does it syncs the wrong time(I'm assumeing that the time displayed is GMT) all my listings are in the correct place(ie what's on right now is what pops up first just with the wrong time) So when I sit down at my mythbox at 6 oclock Eastern and go to my guide it says that what's on right now is the 6 oclock news, but it says that it's 11 oclock at night. If I manly set the clock in Webmin then the clock on the program guide says it's the correct time but the listings are off. I've tried the XMLTV offset option in myth-setup any ideas

Your system time should be set to local time. Use tzconfig or webmin and set your timezone and time correctly. Use hwclock --systohc or webmin to push the setting from the system clock into the BIOS hardware clock. Then reboot and make sure your settings stuck.

Now run mythtv-setup (you may need to stop the backend first) and answer "yes" to the question about clearing your program guide data. Make sure your video source is set up correctly, then exit and run mythfilldatabase as the myttv user.

BTW - This is a relatively common problem. A search of the forums should have turned up essentially the same fix given above.

A exception to the above step, you should not have to reboot.

When I first went through this myself I discovered that the timezone changes didn't take effect until you restarted several servers: mysql, mythbackend, ... It's easier to just to tell people to reboot. it also helps to verify that the change to the hardware clock has taken effect.
