Hi all,

i would like to add some games to my mythtv setup and i have found a site with some on! http://games.linux.sk http://www.happypenguin.org/ but some of the games need to be built first and im unsure how or what i need to do to get them working!...

i would like to get these games working!

but i cant seam to get them to compile as i need the libs and etc.. can someone help as im sure there are a few more that would like to add some games...

What every game it is you choose to add, you need to read the 'README' or 'INSTALL' after untarring the source. These will have directions on installing the game (general ./configure, make and make install) and what dependencies the program may have. Depending on the game, it maybe available as a Debian package. You can try the following:

apt-get update
apt-cache search tuxkart
If the game is available:
Code:
apt-get install tuxkart

thanks the apt-cache & get work a treat! only thing is i would still like to no how to get some tar.gz files working!

the main one would be racer 050 http://www.racer.nl/ and is not in the apt-cache and the only release i can find is in tar.gz format and i never seem able to get software compiled.

You will need to untar the file to a directory somewhere first as well...
