All,

I installed KnoppMyth and I am able to "Watch TV" right out of the box.

Note: I am using a WinTV Go, but not using the tuner, just the composite input. I have DirecTV, so I need MythTV to send signals to an IR Blaster.

My WinTV GO came with an IR blaster, and I also have a Serial Port IR Blaster. I'm not sure which one is going to work so I got both.

Anyways, I read this somewhere: "MythTV supports changing the channel on an external tuner. If you have an external tuner, such as a DirecTV or digital cable set top box, you should add /usr/local/bin/changechannel to your Input Connections in the mythbackend configuration GUI. However, there is not changechannel program per-se, because this is going to be dependent on what sort of external tuner you have. Look in the contrib/channel_changers directory for a number of programs and scripts which may be used to change channels. Once you find one which works, copy it to /usr/local/bin/changechannel."

I cannot find "changechannel" directory in a KnoppMyth installation, and I cannot find "contrib/channel_changers" directory either.

Anyone know where I can start?

Start by searching the forums. This has been covered quite a bit. Try typing irblaster in the search criteria.

I found this link that seems like it may be a good start:
