Post subject: | R5B7 ... autoupgrade from R5A30.2 ... |
Hi ... I have a general questine on upgrade ... I have R5A30.2 installed on my /dev/hda1 ... now I try to autoupgrade to R5B7 using the autoupgrade script in installation menu ... But what is the diffference betreen autoinstall and autoupgrade? Both did overwrite my old installation? In both cases I have to input all my data username passwords .... Yes I know (and read) that it is an early version of the installation script ... I have made a complete image of my hd ![]() Thanks Martin |

The main difference that I noticed, is that it preserved your data under /myth, and your database. mike |

Auto upgrade requires that you have done a backup. It keeps your old /myth partition (where all your recordings, videos, and music are kept), and restores your mysql Database, the stuff under /home/mythtv, and a few configuration files. For some guidance on the upgrade process see Cecils documentation http://www.mysettopbox.tv/doc.html#autoupgrade and these notes http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9069 |
