tv does not require an internet connection (at least not after you have your channel data downloaded) and I've never seen it complain about not having an "internet" connection. I have seen cannot connect to master backend. there is a big difference. Is your box all on one machine or are you trying to run frontend/backend on different machines (in which case a network connection is required)?

It it's never been connected to the internet, then more than likely it has no channels setup. Did you setup your channels manually, if so did you set them up correctly?

Hi aten2005,

If you do an ( alt s ) that will open the setup menu. Then go through each item, select your tuner card, use tuner0, and add an entries for a source, I use Video and RF, then add a channel 1 for the video source and channel 3 for the rf source, be sure to set the freq id as 1 & 3 also. Later as you so choose, you could add your other local channels as desired however these settings should give you two connections to the outside world. You won't have any listings for the guide which is quite a nice feature. I haven't tried it however I believe you can do dialup for internet connection, so for only a few $ you can get your listings from labs.zap2it.com, even once a week is good.

Hope this is of assistance.
Mike
