Hello,

Could someone please tell me the process to check if the driver for my Sound Blaster 24-bite was installed by Knoppmyth?

And if it wasn't installed if you could give me the process to install it myself?

I know the pci card is physically there by using lspci -v. But I still get only video and no sound when watching TV. Before blaming MythTV, I want to make sure my sound card is working.

Is there a test to see that?

Thanks for all for help. It's hard to be a newbie but when people help you it's way easier.

Thanks.
BDM

Solved my own problem.

Alsaconf told me that yes, the driver was there.
I then went in alsamixer: the volume was et on 0 for what ever reason: put it at 55 on all and it works.

It works now. Hope my problem will solve someone some time and energy... :D

Just a tip to add to this, is after using alsamixer to adjust your volumes, ensure you do the follow command to save your settings across reboots.

Code:
alsactl store

Must be done as root.

<edit>Fixed command code</edit>
