I'm happily running Mythtv with pvr-350 for capturing and tv-out for over a year now. I currently installed R5C7 and have no problems whatsoever.
I'm just starting with HDTV. can somebody recommend on a card that can co-exist with my pvr-350.

can I still play tvout through the pvr-350 for HDTV recordings ?

As I understood from some forums the HD-5500 can't work with ivtv and therefore there is an issue with the pvr-350.

I don't have antenna so ASTC is not an option. I have Comcast but without a settop box, can I use a QAM card ? or must have the set-top box from comcast ?

THANKS !
Danny

For tuner options look over on this thread:

If Comcast is providing QAM you can use it for non-encrypted DTV/HDTV channels which are usually limited to over-the-air local channels.

You need to ask your local Comcast office if QAM is available over regular analog cable in your area.

You can also get an HDTV cable box from Comcast like the Motorola 6200 and use Firewire to control the box to copy unencrypted HDTV channels and analog channels that are digitized in the cable box. Your PVR350 does a better job of digitizing analog channels than the 6200, but it does work.

HI,

To avoid an issue with R5C7 down the road, there is a tweak to do with log roll over. You will want to do that or somewhere in the future your box will develop heart burn because root is too full. Simple tweak with a big long term reward that the system will just keep running.

Thanks all for the comments,

About the R5C7, how do I tweak it so the logs don't get full ?

Hi,

I don't have it at the finger tips however try a search for mysql logs, rollover and it should turn up. If I find it, I'll post it. Check the wiki also. Just a simple removal of an extra script. Takes a few weeks before it shows up other wise.
