I have recently moved to digital tv reception and it is mostly working well, but last night I realised that I am not receiving ABC2. When I try to view or record ABC2 mythtv shows ABC TV instead.

With analog tv I can make sense of the settings in the mythtv-setup and mythweb channel editors, but not with DVB where only the names and xml details are different. I'm guessing there is more detail stored elsewhere in the database that isn't being shown in these channel editors.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Or can anyone explain how mythtv works out how to tune into DVB channels?

Thanks,
Paul T.

Make sure the "visible" check box is set when you go into the edit channels menu for the ABC2 channel in mythtv-setup.

Thanks for the tips.
I will check the "visible" check box tonight.

[quote="soundoff"]ABC-HD Is not ABC2

The frequencies are (in MHz):
CH7 6 177.5
CH9 8 191.5
CH10 11 219.5
ABC 12 226.5
SBS 29 536.5

so ABC (for example) is 226500000. Transport id for ABC2 on my system is 561. You should look at two tables in your mythconverg database for tuning. Channel and dtv_multiplex. I can do a dump of these two tables if you need it, but first try manual tuning having supplied each frequency (in Hz).

Your card makes a big difference in tuning. Mine (both visionplus/twinhan) need a really strong signal, whereas my father-in-law's (fusion lite - great card) doesn't.

Mike

cards definately make a big difference to reception.

I actually find my dvico fusion lite average reception wise compared to my fusion plus. You should upgrade to a couple of plus cards if you think the lite is good!!

I was actually considering ditching my lite for another plus card, decided against it for now though as its only SBS i have issues with

I checked last night and ABC2 is ticked as "visible".

When I view LiveTV I can change to each channel including ABC2, but for ABC2 I see regular ABC TV.
I will try doing a database dump to see if anything stands out.

It might be worth deleting and re adding the tuner and then rescanning channels. It sounds like your database may have the wrong PID for ABC2.
