I've been searching for a plasma TV recently and have decided on either a Pioneer or Panasonic 50 inch.

My goal is ease of setup on this.

I've seen on this and avsforum that the Pioneers all but require ISF calibration to get rid of the overscan. Is that still the case?

Basically, for some reason i haven't seen many written success stories with either of these kinds of TVs so I'm a bit concerned about buying one.

Thanks everyone!

Any TV you buy is going to have overscan. You'll have to fix that via modeline tweaking. If you don't know how to tweak modelines, look into a Windows app named Powerstrip.

If you are seeking a plasma, you can't go wrong with a Panasonic or a Pioneer, although you'll probably get more value for your money if you go with a Plasma.
