I noticed several low cost ATSC cards on eBay. They claim to have a FlexCopII DVB chip and a Broadcom BCM3510KPF front end. Whatever that means. The picture of the card says "gcc1000" in big letters. The title line mentions Air2PC, but I don't know if that means it's genuine or a clone.

Are those cards any good?

I've bought 3 of these cards from seller gcc1000 and they've been great for OTA HDTV. He/she shipped fast as well.

I've got one off eBay, works fine. Don't have anything to compare it to other than my PVR500, but I'm watching HD right now at 1080P 60hz... although of course, it only picks up 1080i or 720p OTA... there's only one HD channel in my area I can't get and it's because that one is 180 degrees opposite of the other ones from my house.

I interpreted that to mean it doesn't get digital SDTV (480 line). Is that due to a technical limit in the card itself, or is it because none of your local stations broadcast SDTV?

Or did you really mean that it can't receive 1080p?

Sorry, it's still early in the morning...

It'll pick up any ATSC signal... SD or HD.

Yeah, I was just referring to the top-end of what is actually available out there... nobody broadcasts in 1080P is what I should have said. The lower res ATSC stuff comes in just fine too.

That's kinda what I thought. With digital TV it's easier just to let stuff through than to restrict it. But I wouldn't be very surprised if they found a reason to add limits.

Like I said, it was early morning earlier... I'm more awake now.

Don't know if it's the same card I have (Air2PC Rev 2.0 ATSC) but mine works great! I'd buy another one, but I ran out of PCI slots! From the picture it looks to be identical.

I ordered one of these and was curious if it does QAM as well?

I have one of the Air2PC R0.2 cards from eBay as well as a FusionHDTV5 Lite. The Fusion seems to tune ABC, which has a lot of multi path in my area, and keep a stable picture better than the Air2PC. I see no differences on any of the other OTA channels.

I don't use QAM but have heard that others have had difficulty getting the Air2PC R0.2 to do QAM reliably.

I may be wrong as I do not have digital cable to test, but I don't think the Air2PC rev 0.2 does QAM at all... I think it's strictly an ATSC tuner.

I've been watching these auctions as well since the guy is in my area. Looks like everyone has been happy with his cards.

I'd like to pick one up and use it as a SD NTSC tuner until I have a need for a second HD tuner. There are many things that are coming in SD any way so why bother to record it in the HD stream.

So my question is how do you set the card up to do this in myth config?
