I'm trying to setup my PCHDTV5500 to receive my basic cable QAM channels. I know they are there because I can tune them in with my HDTV built-in tuner.

I found this list of channel.conf files:

and that jives with what I'm seeing on my HDTV.

However, I'm trying to follow the instructions here:

and when I run the following command:


I am not getting what appear to be the "right" channels in my channels.conf (none of the channels that are in the list above are in my generated list)

What does this mean? What am I doing wrong?

Actually, this doesn't really matter. Following the instructions I was able to output video from the "correct" channels.conf and play it on mplayer, so the frequencies appear to be right I just don't understand why I cannot scan them. The quality also wasn't that good, so I hope it wasn't indicative of what I'm going to be getting from recordings.

I will continue through the instructions which include manually editing the database, and hopefully I will be watching HDTV on my MythTV system any day now.

Well, I got this working using the channels.conf from here:

I still find It odd that I wasn't able to scan these channels, and that minimizes my faith that channel scanning with Myth 0.20 will work for me, but I'll just have to wait and see.
