I tried to use the links you posted but when I went to install the dvb app, the "make install" step had an error:

I have tried the other separators and the different cable settings (cable, cable high, cable hrc, etc...). But I haven't been able to get the channel to come up that I know works.
I did find another piece of software called VLC or videolan. Someone on irc in linuxtv room suggested that I try it and the one channel I've been relying on in mythtv came right up. I'm not sure why just that channel is the only one i can use in VLC but it makes me feel better because I was beginning to doubt it. Not sure what to do at this point. I was hoping to have this working for superbowl sunday.

I found a local mythtv user on the same cable and got his channels.conf file and loaded it and it worked. The only problem is that he was not able to pickup one channel that I could and he was able to pickup several other channels that I can't. So I would like to find out the transponder number and qam info for that one channel that I am missing. If anyone else is on comcast in chattanooga TN. Please post that info or show me how to get it.
